Our History

Established in 1974 as John Bousfield Associates Ltd., Bousfields has grown over its first three decades so that today there is a complement of approximately 20 planners, urban and community designers and support staff. 

The firm’s name conveys the experience and reputation of its founding partner, John Bousfield, FCIP.  John continues to set an exemplary standard for integrity and professionalism which is honoured by the six partners and associates of the firm today – all of whom are Registered Professional Planners and full members of the Canadian Institute of Planners.

Historically, Bousfields has been recognized as one of the foremost community and subdivision design specialists in the Province.  This remains one of its core services.  In addition, with the increasing emphasis on making more efficient use of land within urban boundaries, the firm has expanded its expertise in the areas of urban redevelopment and infill.
