Highway 410 Expropriation
Caledon

Date: 2006-date
Partner-in-charge: Lindsay Dale-Harris

The Ministry of Transportation has recently committed to the construction of Highway 410 from its present terminus at Bovaird Drive in the City of Brampton to Highway 10 in the Town of Caledon.  The extension will complete an important link in the north-south Provincial highway network between the Greater Toronto Area and areas to the north.

Bousfields has been retained to evaluate the highest and best use for 17 properties which are required for the right-of-way and interchange for Phase 3 of the extension, as input into a land value appraisal.  Phase 3 is the section of the highway in the Town of Caledon which curves westerly from Mayfield Road/Heart Lake Road to Highway 10.

To date, a preliminary planning report has been completed which reviews the extensive policy and regulatory context and expresses a preliminary opinion regarding the highest and best use for each of the properties, both with and without Highway 410.
