Oakville Place Expansion
Oakville

Date: 1996-1999
Partner-in-charge: Lindsay Dale-Harris

Bousfields was retained by Cambridge Shopping Centres to provide land use planning assistance in connection with its proposal to expand the Oakville Place shopping centre, located in the northwest quadrant of the Queen Elizabeth Way and Trafalgar Road, from a sub-regional centre to a regional centre.

Bousfields prepared and submitted development applications, including an Official Plan Amendment and rezoning, together with a supporting planning justification report.  As part of the multi-disciplinary team retained by Cambridge, Bousfields worked closely with Joseph Bogdan Associates to prepare urban design standards to guide the shopping centre expansion.

The Town of Oakville approved the applications in June 1998, rezoning the site to permit the first phase expansion, increasing the size of the centre from 415,000 square feet to 615,000 square feet.
