Provincial Policy Statement Stakeholder Consultations

As part of its Five-Year Review of the 1996 Provincial Policy Statement, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing retained Bousfields, in association with Keir Corp., to conduct a series of stakeholder consultations in Fall 2001.

Bousfields and Keir Corp. conducted 79 stakeholder interviews, both in person and by telephone, with a variety of professional organizations, public agencies, interest groups and residents throughout the Province.  We also designed a questionnaire which was used to structure the interviews.  We compiled the results of the consultations in a report to the Ministry which summarized the interview responses in both a written and graphic format and detailed each respondent’s specific comments by topic area.

The Ministry incorporated the results of the stakeholder consultations into the draft of the new Provincial Policy Statement, which was ultimately approved by Cabinet in March 2005.
