Maher graduated from the Lebanese American University with a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) in 2005. He earned a Master of Urban Design from the University of Toronto in 2007. As an intern-architect at prominent architecture and planning offices in the Middle East including Dar Al-Handasah and Khatib & Alami, his experience included a range of projects varying in type and scale. He contributed to different architecture, landscape and urban design competitions. One of them was a third prize winner project for a United Nations-organized competition entitled ‘Seeing the South’. Maher joined Bousfields Inc. in summer 2007 as an urban designer. His duties include the preparation of planning and urban design rationales related to proposed developments; the assessment of built form options; built form impact analysis, including shadow and view analysis; the preparation of urban design guidelines; and the preparation of evidence for Ontario Municipal Board hearings. Maher is currently a Provisional member of OPPI and is working towards full membership. |
