Mike joined Bousfields in 2008 as a senior planner. He earned his Bachelor of Applied Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University in 1998 and a Professional Master of Geoinformatics from The International Institute for Geoinformation Sciences and Earth Observation in the Netherlands, graduating with distinction in 2002. Mike has worked in the public sector as a planner for the County of Delaware in Ohio. His duties included the review of development applications as well as assisting in the preparation of comprehensive plans for Townships within the County. From 2002 to 2007, Mike worked in the private sector first as a land use planner with the law firm of Cassels Brock and Blackwell LLP and then with Wood Bull LLP. His duties included the preparation of development applications for residential and commercial projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario; drafting appeals to the Ontario Municipal Board; preparing materials for and attending Ontario Municipal Board hearings; representing clients at committee of adjustment hearings; drafting zoning by-law and official plan amendments; conducting planning analyses and reviews on a wide range of planning matters with respect to client projects and interests. Mike is a full member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners. |
