Peter Smith joined the Bousfield firm in 1987, becoming a partner in 1990. Managing complex and demanding projects for both the public and private sector, he possesses a particular talent for integrating sound public policy based planning with both greenfield development and urban intensification. He has over 25 years experience in the land use planning field, having worked previously for a law firm, a market consultant and the City of North York. Mr. Smith’s experience includes securing planning approvals for a number of high-profile urban redevelopment projects in the City of Toronto and elsewhere in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as large-scale community plans in the Greater Toronto Area and Ottawa and retail commercial developments throughout Ontario. His public policy work includes the Development Permit Demonstration Project (March 2000) and the Provincial Policy Statement Five Year Review Stakeholder Consultation (December 2001), both prepared for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. As a result of the depth of his professional experience, Mr. Smith has provided expert planning evidence before the Ontario Municipal Board on a great many occasions. | ||||||||
