Arianne Purves Mitchell

Arianne joined Bousfields as a planner in 2011. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University, with a concentration in urban geography and a minor in environment.  From there, she obtained her Masters in Environmental Studies at York University in the planning stream.  Her research and learning focused on land use development and policy issues including those related to brownfields, health promotion, and recreation.

Prior to joining Bousfields, Arianne worked in the private sector as a land use planner with the law firm McCarthy Tétrault LLP from 2004 to 2010.  Her work focused on a range of urban planning aspects including: the preparation and management of development applications located mostly in Toronto; preparing materials for, and providing support to, lawyers at Ontario Municipal Board hearings and mediations; drafting zoning by-law and official plan amendments; and preparing planning reviews for real estate transactions.  More recently, with the introduction of the Green Energy and Green Economy Act, she was part of McCarthy¹s energy and infrastructure team, providing due diligence support from a municipal approvals perspective for numerous renewable energy projects located throughout Ontario.

Arianne is a full member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and the Canadian Institute of Planners.
